GAME DAY: OCTOBER 27TH

Junior Boys Volleyball: Mayfield (2-6) vs Applewood Heights (1-6)

The Junior Boys Volleyball Team looks to extend their win streak to 3 games on Thursday when they square off against Applewood. The boys are coming into the game with heads held high following a win on Monday against Humberview. The boys will continue to look to CJ Maury for scoring and leadership as they head into their final three games of the regular season. Good Luck Boys!

GAME DAY: OCTOBER 26TH

Junior Girls Basketball: Mayfield (4-0) vs Father Michael Goetz (3-1)
Date: Wednesday October 26th at 4:45pm
Location: Mayfield

Our Junior Girls Basketball Team plays on Wednesday against Father Michael Goetz with the hopes of extending their perfect season another game. The girls currently sit 2nd in the league just two points behind 1st place ranked St. Edmund Campion. Mayfield currently holds a 4-0 record. The girls are coming off a win Monday over St. Augustine while Father Michael Goetz is coming in off a win over David Suzuki. This is the one and only meeting between these two teams this season. Be sure to come on out and cheer the girls on! Go Mavs Go!

Senior Girls Basketball: Mayfield (2-2) vs St Thomas Aquinas (4-2)
Date: Wednesday October 26th at 3:30pm
Location: Mayfield

The Senior Girls Basketball Team plays in the first game of our basketball double header on Wednesday. The girls will take on 3rd place ranked St. Thomas Aquinas in what will be a challenging game for the team. The girls will look to Jotam Chouhan and Katya Dondi for scoring and leadership throughout the game. Mayfield is hoping to continue their winning ways after a 50-33 win over Cardinal Ambrozic on Friday. Good Luck Lady Mavs!

Junior Girls Basketball: Mayfield (3-0) vs St Augustine (1-3)
Date: Monday October 24th
Location: Mayfield

Our Junior Girls Basketball Team is back in action on Monday after a win last Wednesday against David Suzuki. The girls hope to extend their win streak to four games and continue to hold a perfect record. The girls currently sit second in the North division. Be sure to come out and cheer the girls on!

Senior Boys Volleyball: Mayfield (2-4) vs Brampton Christian Academy (3-2)
Date: Monday October 24th
Location: Mayfield

Our Senior Boys Volleyball hope to break a four-game losing streak on Monday as they square off against fourth place ranked Brampton Christian Academy. The boys will turn to Ryan Singer and Colin McClure to lead and guide the team through any situation during play. The boys hope to see lots of fans out to support them. Go Mavs Go!

Junior Boys Volleyball: Mayfield (1-6) at Humberview (1-5)
Date: Monday October 24th
Location: Humberview

The Junior Boys Volleyball Team hopes to extend their win streak on Monday to two games when they play Humberview. The game will be an evenly matched one with both Mayfield and Humberview hoping to grab their second wins of the season. Mayfield won last Friday against Brampton Centennial two sets to one. The boys will continue to look to James Ferris to set up with clutch hits.

Flag Football: Mayfield vs. St. Roch
Date: Monday October 17th
Location: Mayfield

The Mavs Flag Football Team squared off against St. Roch on Monday. Coming into this game, St. Roch was the number one ranked team with a record of 4-1. St. Roch has won all four games in shutout fashion. They did so again on Monday defeating our Mavericks 19-0. The girls came into this game with a 3-2 record and were coming off a 19-0 win over Cardinal Leger on Wednesday October 12th. The girls play next against Fletcher’s Meadow on Thursday. Go Mavs Go!

Senior Boys Volleyball: Mayfield at Philip Pocock

Location: Philip Pocock

Our Senior Boys Volleyball Team was back in action on Monday playing their first of three games this week. The boys played top three ranked Philip Pocock on the road. The boys fought hard but came up short losing the first set 25-15 and the second set 25-20. Ben Van Wart played another great game and continues to show his consistency game after game. The boys play Wednesday at home and Friday on the road.

Location: David Suzuki

The Junior Girls Basketball Team played David Suzuki on Tuesday with the hope of improving to a 3-0 record on the season. The girls won their first two games of the season over Loyola and Our Lady of Mount Carmel. The girls played a well-fought game and came out with a 20-16 win. The girls play next at home on October 24th against St. Augustine. The girls are currently ranked second in the league. Go Mavs Go!

Junior Boys Volleyball: Mayfield at Mississauga
Date: Tuesday October 18th
Location: Mississauga

The Junior Boys Volleyball Team played the best team in the league on Tuesday. The boys held their own as they led in both sets but unfortunately came up short losing the first match 25-14 and the second match 25-17. Big hits came from James, Hayden, Brian and Sunny. Brian was the team’s loudest member on the court as he cheered loud and proud after every point Mayfield grabbed. The boys hope to win on Friday in their game against Brampton Centennial.

Field Hockey: Mayfield vs St. Joseph
Date: Wednesday October 19th

The Mayfield Girls Field Hockey Team closed off their season on Wednesday playing two games against St. Joseph. The girls tied the first game 1-1. Mayfield’s lone goal was scored by Brittany Giles. The second game resulted in a 2-0 win for Mayfield with goals being scored by Renee Carriere and Ashley Gooderham. The team finished the season ranked 3rd in the North division with a record of 3-3-2, just two points out of a playoff spot. The team would like to thank all of those who supported them this season. The coaches would like to thank all of the senior players for their leadership and contributions to the team over the last four years. Great Season Ladies!

Location: St. Thomas Aquinas

The Mayfield Junior Boys Football team looked to rebound from a 13-0 loss on October 14th to David Suzuki when they played St. Thomas Aquinas on Wednesday. The boys squared off against Aquinas earlier in the season on October 5th and won the game 22-6. Unfortunately, the boys came up short this time losing 16-12. The boys play their last game of the season on November 4th against St. Roch. The boys currently sit 4th in the North division.

Senior Boys Volleyball: Mayfield vs St. Francis Xavier
Date: Wednesday October 19th
Location: Mayfield

The Senior Boys Volleyball hoped to get back to their winning ways coming into Wednesday’s game against St. Francis Xavier. The boys played well but ultimately came up short as they lost 2-0. The first set was very close with a final score of 25-22 while the second set resulted in a 25-15 loss for Mayfield. Captain and setter Colin McClure has continued to be consistent when it comes to gameplay. The boys play again on Friday.

Our Junior Boys Volleyball Team played their second of three games this week on Wednesday against Rick Hansen. The boys hoped to capture their first win of the season but could not keep up with fourth place ranked Rick Hansen. The boys lost the first set 25-19 and the second set 25-14. Thanks to all who came out to cheer on the boys, they appreciate all the support! Go Mavs Go!

Flag Football: Mayfield at Fletcher’s Meadow
Date: Thursday October 20th
Location: Fletcher’s Meadow

Our Flag Football Team was back in action for the second time this week on Thursday when they squared off against Fletcher’s Meadow. The girls came into the game hoping to come back from their loss to St. Roch on Monday. The girls fought hard but came up just short losing 20-18. Touchdowns were scored by Lizzie Gibson, Amelia Lawton, and Madison Firth. Madison’s touchdown came off an interception. Lizzie continues to show her power as a quarterback as she consistently makes great throws and plays. The team currently sits 6th in the North division with a record of 3-3-1. The girls have two more games left this season with their next being on October 28th at 1:30pm at Mayfield. Come cheer on Mavs Flag!!

Location: Mayfield

Our Senior Girls Basketball Team was back in action on Friday after having a week off from game play. The girls have worked hard over the last week to get back in the win column and to break a two-game losing streak. The girls came out strong and won the game 50-33. The team was led in points by Jotam Chouhan. The girls play on October 26th at home against St. Thomas Aquinas and hope to see lots of fans out to cheer them on!

The Junior Boys Volleyball Team picked up their first win of the season on Friday with a win over Brampton Centennial. The boys won both sets easily and showed tons of team spirit in the process. The boys won the first set 25-14 and won the second set by a score of 25-18. The boys hope to continue their winning ways when they play on Monday against rival Humberview. Go Mavs Go!

The Senior Boys played their final game of the week on Friday when they squared off against Brampton Centennial. The boys came into this game hoping to shake off a three-game losing streak. The boys lost the first set 25-18 but fought back in the second set but came up short losing 25-20. Ryan Singer played another fantastic game as he has all season long.  The boys currently sit 7th in the North division with a record of 2-4. The boys are back at home on Monday when they host Brampton Christian Academy.

Our Senior Boys Football Team played in Friday Night Lights 2.0 on Friday. The boys squared off against Humberview at Chinguacousy Park and defeated them 48-0. Touchdowns were scored by Jake Bridge, Dryden Lewis, John Milkovich, Nicholas Rotatore. Josh Bridge scored 24 points with 2 touchdowns, 2 field goals, and many converts. Hitmen of the game were Josh Bridge, Erik Dornhoff, and Mike Del Rizzo. Tyrel Persaud earned the Big Stick. The boys currently sit 2nd in the North division with a record of 4-1 and are just two points out of first. The boys play their final game of the season on November 2nd at 3pm at Mayfield. SPORTS RECAP: Week of October 11th

Junior Girls Basketball: Mayfield at Our Lady of Mount Carmel
Date: Tuesday October 11th 
Location: Our Lady of Mount Carmel

Our Junior Girls Basketball Team played their second game of the season on Tuesday against Our Lady of Mount Carmel. The girls came into the game hoping to improve to 2-0 on the season and they did just that. The girls came together to win 26-24. The team was led by guard Shannon Bury. The girls hope to improve their win streak to three games when they play David Suzuki next Tuesday! Go Mavs Go!

 Cross Country: Pre-ROPSSAA Meet: Heart Lake Challenge
Date: Wednesday October 12th
Location: Brampton, ON
                                                          
Our Mayfield Cross Country Team was back in action on Wednesday running in the Heart Lake Challenge. Our Midget Girls Team pulled off an amazing fifth place finish. The girls were led by Emma Everett who finished in 2nd place out of over 200 runners. Emma was followed by Kirsten Swatuk in 36th and Emmalyn Smith in 49th. Taylor Rasmussen, Issie McCloskey, and Mackenzie Brooks rounded off the Midget Girls Team. Our Senior Boys Team ran to a 7th place finish and was led by James Cromack who finished in 7th place out of over 350 runners. James was followed by Max Grant in 34th and Cameron Dunkerley in 39th. Nicholas Klymciw, Sean Kong, Tadhg Roche, Jalen Sounes, Jacob Loat and Tyler May also ran fantastic races. Our Senior Girls team ran to a 5th overall finish at the meet. Lindsay Appleton led the team in 23rd and was followed by Kennedy Rawding in 27th. Megan Wallace, Leah Holtom, Emma Grove, Jessie Ye, Gillian Smith, Claire Wilson, Natalie Rowland, Chloe Garzon, Raegan Wong and Jessica Takimoto rounded off the team. The Cross Country Team will be back in action on October 27th as they run at the ROPSSAA Championships.

Flag Football: Game vs. Cardinal Leger

Location: Mayfield

The Girls Flag Football Team pulled off another win on Wednesday when they faced Cardinal Leger. The girls won the game 19-0 to improve to a record of 3-1-1 and currently sit third in the North division, just 3 points back of 2nd. Lizzie Gibson played another amazing game as quarterback and made great plays all game. Jazmine Portch played her best game of the season as she made 3 interceptions. The girls play 2nd place ranked St. Roch on Monday at Mayfield. Go Mavs Go!

The Junior Boys Volleyball team was back in action on Wednesday on the road as they played Our Lady of Mount Carmel. The boys came into this game hoping to shake off a close loss to David Suzuki on October 4th. The boys lost this game 2-0, losing the first set 25-11 but came back and tightened the second game 25-21, but fell just short. The boys play North Park at home on Friday. Good Luck Boys!

The Mayfield Junior Boys were in action on Friday for a second time this week. This time against North Park at home. The boys came out and won the first set 25-22 as the Mayfield home crowd cheering them on. Unfortunately, the boys lost the second set 25-10 leading to a third set which ended in a 15-7 loss. The boys lost the game 2 sets to 1. The boys want to thank all the support that they had from the fans. The boys play again at home on October 19th, be sure to come out and cheer on our team!

The Senior Boys came into Friday’s game hoping to improve to a 3-0 record on the season. It would be a hard fought win as North Park is currently ranked first in the North division. The boys lost both sets, losing the first 25-15 and the second 25-18. The boys fought hard but came up short. Captain Colin McClure led the team once again with great plays and leadership. The boys play three games next week. Be sure to cheer them on at home on Wednesday. Go Mavs Go!

The Junior Boys played David Suzuki on Friday in the first game of Mayfield’s Friday Night Lights double header. The boys came into this game with heads held high after a win over Aquinas on October 5th. The boys hoped to improve their win streak to two games. The boys came up short losing 13-0. The boys want to thank all the Mayfield fans who came out to cheer them on! The boys have two more games this season. Good Luck Boys!

In the second game on Mayfield’s Friday Night Lights, our Senior Boys squared off against Castlebrooke. The boys came into this game hoping to improve their win streak to two games. The boys came out strong winning the game 24-8. The team was led by Josh Bridge who continues to show his fantastic kicking abilities game after game. The boys have two more games left this season, the next being next Friday at 7:30pm at Chinguacousy Park against rival Humberview. The boys would love to see plenty of support in the stands once again! Go Mavs Go!

Junior Boys Volleyball: Mayfield (0-3) vs. North Park (1-3)
Date: Friday October 14th at 3:30pm
Location: Mayfield

Our Junior Boys Volleyball team is back in action on Friday after playing against Our Lady of Mount Carmel on Wednesday. The boys hope to rebound from a 2-0 loss by capturing their first win of the season against North Park. The boys hope to see lots of fans in the stands as they play at home!

The Senior Boys Volleyball team play their first home game of the season on Friday as they face North Park. North Park comes into this game ranked first in the North division while Mayfield is just two points behind them and ranked second. The Mayfield Boys hope to improve to 3-0 and continue their win streak on Friday. Mayfield will look to key players Jake Reid, Ryan Singer and captain Colin McClure for leadership and strong and consistent game play. The boys hope to see lots of fans at the game! Go Mavs Go!

The Junior Boys Football team is looking forward to playing in Mayfield’s Friday Night Lights against David Suzuki on Friday. Mayfield hopes to extend their win streak to two games after their 22-6 win over St. Thomas Aquinas on October 5th. This is the second time Mayfield and David Suzuki have squared off this season with the first game being played on September 22nd and resulted in a 22-12 loss for the Mavs. Be sure to come out to Chinguacousy Park to cheer on your Junior Boys Mavericks. Kickoff is at 6pm. GO MAVS GO!

Location: Chinguacousy Park- Terry Fox Stadium

Our Mayfield Senior Boys have impressed us so far this season and hope to continue to do so when they square off against Castlebrooke at Chinguacousy Park on Friday as they play the second game of our double header. Mayfield is coming off an 18-13 win over Fletcher’s Meadow last Thursday. The boys look to extend their win streak to 3 games with a win on Friday. The boys will continue to look to seniors Jake Bridge and Dryden Lewis for scoring and leadership as well as excellent kicking from Josh Bridge. The Senior Boys hope to see lots of Mayfield fans out to support them. Kickoff is at 8pm. Go Mavericks!!
