Flag Football: Mayfield vs. St. Roch
Date: Monday October 17th
Location: Mayfield
The Mavs Flag Football Team squared off against St. Roch on Monday. Coming into this game, St. Roch was the number one ranked team with a record of 4-1. St. Roch has won all four games in shutout fashion. They did so again on Monday defeating our Mavericks 19-0. The girls came into this game with a 3-2 record and were coming off a 19-0 win over Cardinal Leger on Wednesday October 12th. The girls play next against Fletcher’s Meadow on Thursday. Go Mavs Go!
Senior Boys Volleyball: Mayfield at Philip Pocock
Date: Monday October 17th
Location: Philip Pocock
Our Senior Boys Volleyball Team was back in action on Monday playing their first of three games this week. The boys played top three ranked Philip Pocock on the road. The boys fought hard but came up short losing the first set 25-15 and the second set 25-20. Ben Van Wart played another great game and continues to show his consistency game after game. The boys play Wednesday at home and Friday on the road.
Junior Girls Basketball: Mayfield at David Suzuki
Date: Tuesday October 18th
Location: David Suzuki
The Junior Girls Basketball Team played David Suzuki on Tuesday with the hope of improving to a 3-0 record on the season. The girls won their first two games of the season over Loyola and Our Lady of Mount Carmel. The girls played a well-fought game and came out with a 20-16 win. The girls play next at home on October 24th against St. Augustine. The girls are currently ranked second in the league. Go Mavs Go!
Junior Boys Volleyball: Mayfield at Mississauga
Date: Tuesday October 18th
Location: Mississauga
The Junior Boys Volleyball Team played the best team in the league on Tuesday. The boys held their own as they led in both sets but unfortunately came up short losing the first match 25-14 and the second match 25-17. Big hits came from James, Hayden, Brian and Sunny. Brian was the team’s loudest member on the court as he cheered loud and proud after every point Mayfield grabbed. The boys hope to win on Friday in their game against Brampton Centennial.

Date: Wednesday October 19th
Location: Cassie Campbell Turf
The Mayfield Girls Field Hockey Team closed off their season on Wednesday playing two games against St. Joseph. The girls tied the first game 1-1. Mayfield’s lone goal was scored by Brittany Giles. The second game resulted in a 2-0 win for Mayfield with goals being scored by Renee Carriere and Ashley Gooderham. The team finished the season ranked 3rd in the North division with a record of 3-3-2, just two points out of a playoff spot. The team would like to thank all of those who supported them this season. The coaches would like to thank all of the senior players for their leadership and contributions to the team over the last four years. Great Season Ladies!
Junior Boys Football: Mayfield at St. Thomas Aquinas
Date: Wednesday October 19th
Location: St. Thomas Aquinas
The Mayfield Junior Boys Football team looked to rebound from a 13-0 loss on October 14th to David Suzuki when they played St. Thomas Aquinas on Wednesday. The boys squared off against Aquinas earlier in the season on October 5th and won the game 22-6. Unfortunately, the boys came up short this time losing 16-12. The boys play their last game of the season on November 4th against St. Roch. The boys currently sit 4th in the North division.

The Senior Boys Volleyball hoped to get back to their winning ways coming into Wednesday’s game against St. Francis Xavier. The boys played well but ultimately came up short as they lost 2-0. The first set was very close with a final score of 25-22 while the second set resulted in a 25-15 loss for Mayfield. Captain and setter Colin McClure has continued to be consistent when it comes to gameplay. The boys play again on Friday.

Our Junior Boys Volleyball Team played their second of three games this week on Wednesday against Rick Hansen. The boys hoped to capture their first win of the season but could not keep up with fourth place ranked Rick Hansen. The boys lost the first set 25-19 and the second set 25-14. Thanks to all who came out to cheer on the boys, they appreciate all the support! Go Mavs Go!

Flag Football: Mayfield at Fletcher’s Meadow
Date: Thursday October 20th
Location: Fletcher’s Meadow
Our Flag Football Team was back in action for the second time this week on Thursday when they squared off against Fletcher’s Meadow. The girls came into the game hoping to come back from their loss to St. Roch on Monday. The girls fought hard but came up just short losing 20-18. Touchdowns were scored by Lizzie Gibson, Amelia Lawton, and Madison Firth. Madison’s touchdown came off an interception. Lizzie continues to show her power as a quarterback as she consistently makes great throws and plays. The team currently sits 6th in the North division with a record of 3-3-1. The girls have two more games left this season with their next being on October 28th at 1:30pm at Mayfield. Come cheer on Mavs Flag!!
Senior Girls Basketball: Mayfield vs Cardinal Ambrozic
Date: Friday October 21st
Location: Mayfield
Our Senior Girls Basketball Team was back in action on Friday after having a week off from game play. The girls have worked hard over the last week to get back in the win column and to break a two-game losing streak. The girls came out strong and won the game 50-33. The team was led in points by Jotam Chouhan. The girls play on October 26th at home against St. Thomas Aquinas and hope to see lots of fans out to cheer them on!

Location: Brampton Centennial
The Junior Boys Volleyball Team picked up their first win of the season on Friday with a win over Brampton Centennial. The boys won both sets easily and showed tons of team spirit in the process. The boys won the first set 25-14 and won the second set by a score of 25-18. The boys hope to continue their winning ways when they play on Monday against rival Humberview. Go Mavs Go!

The Senior Boys played their final game of the week on Friday when they squared off against Brampton Centennial. The boys came into this game hoping to shake off a three-game losing streak. The boys lost the first set 25-18 but fought back in the second set but came up short losing 25-20. Ryan Singer played another fantastic game as he has all season long. The boys currently sit 7th in the North division with a record of 2-4. The boys are back at home on Monday when they host Brampton Christian Academy.

Location: Chinguacousy Park- Terry Fox Stadium
Our Senior Boys Football Team played in Friday Night Lights 2.0 on Friday. The boys squared off against Humberview at Chinguacousy Park and defeated them 48-0. Touchdowns were scored by Jake Bridge, Dryden Lewis, John Milkovich, Nicholas Rotatore. Josh Bridge scored 24 points with 2 touchdowns, 2 field goals, and many converts. Hitmen of the game were Josh Bridge, Erik Dornhoff, and Mike Del Rizzo. Tyrel Persaud earned the Big Stick. The boys currently sit 2nd in the North division with a record of 4-1 and are just two points out of first. The boys play their final game of the season on November 2nd at 3pm at Mayfield. Be sure to come on out and cheer them on! Go Mavs!
